Gone Below Ground, Ready to Replant

Stumps removed below ground level, ready for immediate replanting or new paving.

Using a stump grinder, we take the stump down below ground level and clear the resulting chip, leaving a level, workable area behind. It's often carried out alongside a tree removal, or booked on its own to finish off an old stump left over from work done elsewhere.

From Stump to Level Ground

A straightforward two-part job, done properly.

01

Stump Grinding

The stump is ground down below ground level using a mechanical grinder, removing the visible stump and the bulk of the root plate directly beneath it.

02

Site Reinstatement

The resulting wood chip is cleared and the area levelled off, leaving ground that's ready for turf, planting or paving.

Common Questions

Can you remove a stump on its own, without felling a tree?

Yes. Whether the tree was taken down by us, another contractor, or years ago, we can grind out an existing stump on its own without any other work needed.

Will you clear away the wood chip afterwards?

Yes. Site reinstatement is included as standard. The resulting chip is cleared and the area levelled off, ready for replanting or paving. If you'd like to keep some chip for beds, just ask.

How do you price stump removal?

Prices reflect the stump's diameter, root spread, accessibility and whether the area needs reinstating afterwards. Photos and a brief description, or simply a postcode, help with a fast estimate, and we're happy to visit where needed.

Are you insured and qualified?

Yes. Our operatives hold relevant qualifications (chainsaw use, aerial rescue, climbing, rigging) and Emergency First Aid. We work to BS 3998 guidance and site-specific risk assessments. Public liability insurance documentation is available on request, and we provide method statements where required.
